CAIR 20th Anniversary Banquet – Where was Al Sharpton?

Last night, the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) held it’s 20th Anniversary Banquet.  According to promotional material, the keynote speaker was MSNBC host Al Sharpton.

We’re just not sure if he showed up.

The CAIR National twitter feed is showing photos of the other guests, Congressmen  Keith Ellison and Jim Moran.  No mention of Rev. Sharpton.   On the flip side, Rev. Sharpton’s twitter feed makes no mention of his attending the CAIR event.

Sharpton had previously spoke at CAIR’s 18th annual banquet back in September 2012 . At that event he said he was “honored” to be asked to speak for “one of the most important civil rights organizations in the United States today and that is CAIR.”

We’re making a guess that this time he stood up CAIR in favor of the Congressional Black Caucus Phoenix Awards Dinner

Big news here?  Hardly- we were just wondering what happened the “Rev. Al”

The Global Muslim Brotherhood Daily Watch profile on CAIR:

The Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) describes itself as “a grassroots civil rights and advocacy group and as “America’s largest Islamic civil liberties group.” CAIR was founded in 1994 by three officers of the Islamic Association of Palestine, part of the U.S. Hamas infrastructure at that time.  Documents discovered in the course of the the terrorism trial of the Holy Land Foundation confirmed that the founders and current leaders of CAIR were part of the Palestine Committee of the Muslim Brotherhood and that CAIR itself is part of the US. Muslim Brotherhood. In 2008, the then Deputy leader of the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood acknowledged a relationship between the Egyptian Brotherhood and CAIR.  In 2009, a US federal judge ruled “The Government has produced ample evidence to establish the associations of CAIR, ISNA and NAIT with HLF, the Islamic Association for Palestine (“IAP”), and with Hamas.” CAIR and its leaders have had a long history of defending individuals accused of terrorism by the US. government, often labeling such prosecutions a “war on Islam”, and have also been associated with Islamic fundamentalism and antisemitism. The organization is led by Nihad Awad, its longstanding Executive Director and one of the three original founders.

Thirteen Years Later … anger still

It’s the eve before the 13th anniversary of the Islamic terror attacks on America . I’m sure there will be memorial and remembrance ceremonies across the nation, but there seems to be very little mention of them in the media today.  My local paper has nothing – same with local TV websites – I hope this is not part of a nationwide trend.  The visions I saw 13 years ago are as clear today as they were then.

I wrote the following last year.  Please feel free to share.

Twelve Years Later … anger

September 11, 2001 attacks in New York City: V...

“… an anger in knowing that those that attacked us on September 11, 2001 are realizing success in reaching their goals.”

It has been twelve years and as I sit and watch scenes from September 11, 2001, I feel anger.

An anger towards those that attacked my country.    While the media focuses on ceremonies involving wreath laying and speeches at various memorials, the live footage of people jumping to their deaths from the Twin Towers remains fresh in mind.

Anger at those that supported the attacks.   Foreign Islamist  organizations  and, specifically, the groups and mosques in the U.S. that provided logistical support to the Islamic terrorists that hijacked the aircraft and killed the thousands of souls in the name of Islam.

Anger at those that wish to sanitize what happened and whitewash history.  We were attacked that day by Islamic terrorists as part of an Islamic jihad. News coverage of the “remembrance” makes no mention of this or even Al-Qaeda – we were simply attacked by generic terrorists.  The anger builds listening to the politicians giving memorial speeches that never mention those responsible for the heinous attacks that shook this great nation.  Somehow these politicians feel that “looking forward” and rebuilding will make us better Americans.   They are sadly mistaken.

Anger toward those that seek appeasement.    Whether it is the removal of training materials that Muslim’s find offensive or the inclusion of our enemies on government advisory boards, it is an anger in knowing that those that attacked us on September 11, 2001 are realizing success in reaching their goals.

My anger serves a purpose – I will never forget what happened that day.

“Mohammad” most popular newborn name in Britain for 2013

Muhammed Is Britain’s Most Popular Boys Name

From: Breitbart.com
By: Andre Walker, 15 Aug 2014

As exclusively reported by Breitbart London last week, Muhammed has been crowned Britain’s most popular boys name in figures published by the Office of National Statistics (ONS) today. The name of the Muslim prophet beat Oliver as the most popular boys name chosen by parents in Britain in 2013.

As a result of the way the statistics are put together, the name does not appear to have won, as the ONS classifies each of the different spellings as a different entry on the list. This means that “Muhammad” came in 15th with 3,499 children but “Mohammed” was 23rd with 2,887 and “Mohammad” was 57th with 1059 given the name.

As a result the top three spellings alone accounted for the names of 7,445 boys, easily beating the second most popular name Oliver which got just 6,949. Also the statistics are only published for the top 100 names, so the even more obscure spellings of Mohammed are likely to push the total even higher.

News that Mohammed is the most popular boys name in Britain was first exclusively reported on Breitbart London following a leak at the ONS last week. At the time, Mohammed was already the most popular boys name in London by some considerable margin.

The scale of the result is likely to leave the public shocked, although much of the mainstream media  are expected to focus on the official ONS results. As a result, they will report that Mohammed only came in 15th, ignoring the multiple entries. In previous years, media outlets in Britain have not aggregated the various spellings and have only published the top 20 names, which makes it seem like traditional names remain dominant.

Nottingham UK: Islam’s Creep and Effect

“Yes, it could be much worse. It could be another Oldham, Bradford, Luton, Tower Hamlets, etc. At least there isn’t the rampant radicalism as in those places. But it’s a process, and if there’s complacency then in a generation’s time it could be the same or even worse.”  – Paul Wilkinson, How Nottingham Has Changed in the Last 15 Years

Nottingham Rejoices First Minaret Mosque

From: Onislam.net
By: OnIslam & Newspapers, Wednesday, 02 April 2014

CAIRO – Joyful Muslim community in the central British city of Nottingham has been preparing for the inauguration of their city’s first mosque with a minaret next week, seeing it a symbol of Islam in the old city.

“I’m very proud and anxious that it opens,” mosque chairman Aurangzeb Khan, 79, of Carlton, told Nottingham Post on Wednesday, April 2.

“We’ve wanted it for the last four or five years and we’re really pleased with it.”

The new Jamia Masjid Sultania mosque in Sneinton Dale will host afternoon prayers for the first time from 2pm on Sunday, April 13.

The building, costing around £1.2m, was granted planning permission by Nottingham City Council in 2011.

The 47ft high (14 metre) glass fibre minaret was added that the end of February as one of the final pieces to be added to the Jamia Masjid Sultania mosque, in Sneinton.

The minaret can be used for Adhan, call to prayer, only after taking a planning permission

COMMENT/ANALYSIS:  When I originally came across the above article, my first intention was to provide comments and links to how the influx of Muslim immigrants has changed the Nottingham UK landscape.  Being a firm believer in not wasting time “reinventing the wheel”  my online research brought me to writings penned by Paul Wilkinson on the blogging site, chersonandmolschky.com.

Wilkinson’s personal account covers the changes he’s seen over the last 15 years in his home city of Nottingham.  It’s a reflection of what is occurring in many English communities as well as those in the U.S. and Canada.  I strongly encourage you to read his perspective on the above mosque article as well.

No baptisms in Brunei by 2016? Concerns raised over shift to new Islamic law system

From:  GMA News
By: Rie Takumi/KBK/JL, GMA News, April 1, 2014 4:02pm

Baptisms may soon be outlawed in Brunei as the country shifts to a full system of Islamic law—a potential major cause of concern among Catholic and other non-Muslim Filipinos there.

A report on UK’s The Independent said Philippine Ambassador to Brunei Nestor Ochoa recently held a meeting to warn Filipinos of possible implications of the new system.

Brunei hosts 30,000 Filipinos, most of whom are Catholics, and to whom baptisms may be out of reach in two years’ time.

“There will be no baptisms. There is not a lot we can do about it. We will have to wait and see what happens,” Father Robert Leong, a Catholic priest in Brunei, told The Independent.

Under the new rules, propagation of religion other than Islam to a Muslim or atheist is an offense. Brunei Times reported that offenders will pay a fine up to $20,000 or face imprisonment for up to five years or both under Section 209.

A separate report on Brunei Times said legal experts from the Ministry of Religious Affairs and the Prime Minister’s Office in Brunei have warned private education institutions from committing such offenses.

Under the new law, it is a crime to “expose the child to any ceremony, act of worship or religious activity of any religion beside Islam, or to participate in any activity held for the benefit of other religions.”

COMMENT/ANALYSIS:  A former British colony, Brunei relies heavily on foreign investments, especially in regards to it’s oil resources.  The U.K. maintains a force in the country as part of a defense agreement.  It will be interesting to see how the Sharia implementation will impact/influence these relationships.  As mentioned in the above article,  Filipinos residing there are very concerned.

The decision to move Brunei to a system of full Sharia law was made by its Sultan last year, replacing a legal system based on English common law.  The move to the Syariah Penal Code is being done in three phases. The planned approach includes moves to silence critics.  The Sultan has warned against questioning the move.

From a host of past statements, it appears the Sultan finds western influences to be an increasing threat to stability in his country, as well as his control.   Since a suppressed revolt in 1962, the Sultan has enjoyed full executive authority over the country – effectively martial law.

The country can trace it’s Islamic foundation to around the 15th century and it’s sultans were responsible for spreading Islam from Borneo to the Phillipines.  Muslims make up approximately two-thirds of Brunei’s population and the application of Sharia for most civil  matters has been well established.

CAIR-FL Victory: bus ad reversal – appeasement

The Tampa Bay Times reports:

Reversing course, Hillsborough County’s transit agency will allow the Florida Council on American-Islamic Relations to advertise on its buses.

The unanimous vote by members of the Hillsborough Area Regional Transit (HART) board of directors is a sharp turn from where members were in August, when eight of the 10 present rejected the advertisement on county buses, citing promotion of religion as a concern.

CAIR Florida appealed the original ban claiming the proposed ads were, “aimed at challenging stereotypes of Islam and Muslims and defending civil liberties.”

cair-adAs noted, the original ruling rejecting the ads was based on the promotion of religion.  CAIR claims the ads simply promote diversity and are not religious based.

CAIR first attempted to obtain HART ad space in April 2013 as part of the #MyJihad campaign being pushed in a number of cities and municipalities.  HART rejected those ads because they violated its policy prohibiting ads that “primarily promote a religious faith or religious organization.”

In regards to the August 5th denial, Tampa Bay times noted:

Given how the ad has evolved, board member Wallace Bowers said he believes CAIR’s religious intent is clear and it is now seeking to circumvent HART rules. Member Mark Sharpe, who serves on the County Commission, agreed.

Hillsborough County Commissioner Kevin Beckner had voted in support of the recent CAIR ads.  Beckner thought the rejection had more to do with the organization behind the ad.

“What happened on Aug. 5 was a great injustice … ,” Beckner said at the meeting. “It’s pure and outright hatred and discrimination and now this board has an opportunity to right that injustice. We can talk about what the policy looks like in the future, but the right thing today is to approve this ad.”

As pointed out by other commission members, CAIR is clearly religious based – so the rejection was certainly about the organization.  The terms “Islam” and “Muslim” are not secular.  Here are just a few statements from the  national CAIR website:

  • CAIR’s mission is to enhance understanding of Islam, encourage dialogue, protect civil liberties, empower American Muslims, and build coalitions that promote justice and mutual understanding.
  • CAIR is America’s largest Islamic civil liberties group …
  • Since its establishment in 1994, CAIR has worked to promote a positive image of Islam and Muslims in America.
  • CAIR’s Governmental Affairs Department conducts and organizes lobbying efforts on issues related to Islam and Muslims.
  • CAIR’s Communications Department works in conjunction with local and national media to ensure an accurate portrayal of Islam and Muslims is presented to the American public.
  • CAIR offers a variety of publications that address the needs and rights of American Muslims.

CAIR Florida even states its county bus ad campaign, based on the group’s establishment in 2000, is to challenge stereotypes of Islam and Muslims and defend civil liberties.

Hypothetical example to consider:  the Conference of Catholic Bishops requests to place an ad with HART.  The ad shows 2 Catholic priests, 2 Catholic nuns and 3 people in nondescript street clothes.   The purpose of the ad is to challenge the stereotypes of Catholics.  Would such an ad be approved?

There is simply no rational way to put CAIR’s activities and promotional ads under a secular label and the original board vote reflected this.

While not indicated in the articles, HART most likely has some prohibition in accepting advertising from groups that support violence/terrorist activities.  Considering CAIR’s documented ties to terrorist funding and associated activities, one would think any “no” vote based on this factor alone would be a rational one.

Beckner apparently chooses to ignore CAIR’s documented history and religious focus.  They have apparently have found an ally with Beckner. His claims of “outright hatred and discrimination” and “righting injustice” fall in line with the typical victimization image that CAIR attempts to portray.  As shown in HART’s policy reversal, it’s proven to be an effective intimidation tactic.

COMMENT/ANALYSIS: HART board members have apparently found that appeasement is preferable over being subject to a CAIR smear campaign and being labelled an “islamophobe“.

Recruiting the Recruit: “Submission” at Lackland AFB

Paul “Dave” Gaubatz, former Federal Agent, U.S. State Department-trained Arabic linguist and counterterrorism specialist, reports on the efforts of a San Antonio, TX mosque to convert airman at Lackland AFB, TX.  According to Gaubatz, the military is even facilitating the program.

“While the U.S. military has clamped down on military members having any connection to the Christian and Jewish faith, or speaking to one another about their religious beliefs, the military leaders are encouraging and demanding non Muslim USAF members attend Islamic services.”

Promoting Islam at Lackland Air Force

A couple of months ago I had the opportunity to visit the Islamic Center of San Antonio, SanAntonio, TX. The research findings were typical of most Sunni mosques around America. This is a Salafist (Wahabi) mosque. Inside were the typical violent materials such as Fiqh Us Sunnan, Tafsir Ibn Kathir, Riyadh Al Salheen, and more.

The research findings were not a surprise since I have seen this type mosque hundreds of times during my research. What was interesting is the Islamic Center is near Lackland AFB. This is one of the U.S. Military largest training bases. All USAF personnel must conduct their initial training on this base. Here is what I discovered:

1. The Imam is Yousef Said, Ph D. Most of the worshippers are from Pakistan/Sunni-Salafist.
2. They had all the materials that identify them as supporting Al Qaeda, Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood.
3. Very strict Sharia adherence. Many of the young girls were completely veiled.
4. The Center has a strong security team on the grounds 24 hours a day.
5. I met several men, the Imam, custodians, and their head of security.
6. The Islamic Center is closely linked to Masjid Beit El Magdes, 7627 Culebra Rd., San Antonio. They are also behind the Mosque on Lackland AFB. A Brother Jeffrey is the Imam at the Lackland mosque. I was informed the new USAF recruits at Lackland must study Islam and attend the mosque on base. Brother Jeffrey has a goal of recruiting/converting at least 3 Airmen per week. Thus far they have had no problem doing this.
7. There were brochures of Imam Siraj Wahhaj coming to San Antonio on 8 June 2013. Remember I have always said Wahhaj is America’s most dangerous Islamic leader. The meeting is open for all and will be held at the Crossroads Mall Wonderland of America, 4522 Fredericksburg Rd, San Antonio, TX 7pm – 10pm.
8. A former U.S. military member Terry Holdbrooks assigned to GITMO was converted by three GITMO prisoners. Holdbrooks now speaks at mosques. He was in San Antonio on 24 May 2013.
9. The Islamic Center has close ties with CAIR National.

Islamic Center of San Antonio.

Lackland Air Force Base is also home to a large number of Saudi Military. They attend training at this base for various aircraft related fields of study. Over the years there have been Saudi military that suddenly disappear into the American landscape. Many are part of the underground Islamic sleeper cell community.

Lackland AFB has a mosque and what I found disturbing was that non Muslims AF trainees at Lackland attend Islamic services at the mosque. The Islamic leaders at the Islamic Center of San Antonio informed me that new AF recruits must attend Islamic services at the mosque.

COMMENTS/ANALYSIS:  This is another example playing the  “we are misunderstood” and “victimization” cards to gain inroads on policy making within western nations.  To avoid the stigma of being labeled “islamaphobes” political and military leaders will go to extremes to appease Islamic special interest groups, even at the risk of national security.

Britain’s Muslim Mess – a head in the sand policy

Social clashes between mainstream western ideology and Islamists have been festering for some time in the UK as in other European countries. The media and government officials have tended to down-play most incidents, even appearing to be apologetic at times.

The broad daylight hacking death of British solider Lee Rigby on a Woolwich street, shocked much of the world.  Amateur phone video taken immediately after the murder, allowed the public to get an uncensored look at blood covered hands and hear the murderer’s explanation of the attack: revenge for the wrongs he felt had been committed against Muslims.

Much of the media carried official comments describing a “lone wolf” attack by someone that had been “radicalized.”   An all to frequent line that appears to be an attempt to plant the concept of a single, disturbed individual acting alone – placing distance from any connection to “mainstream” Islam.  At last report, there have been 10 arrests in connection with the Woolwich murder.

British Prime Minister Cameron addressed the Woolwich incident by describing the attack as a “betrayal of Islam”, giving the impression that Muslims were as much the victim as Lee Rigby.  According to the Prime Minister, “There is nothing in Islam that justifies acts of terror.”   He then moved to condemn all extremism, stating the government would not stand for groups like the English Defense League (EDL).

Prime Minister Cameron’s mention of the EDL was most likely an effort to provide a politically correct balance to his speech. A disturbing trend in many western countries, over the top tolerance towards Islam is accompanied with intolerance for individuals and groups that are critical of Islam.

This policy is based on a rather idealistic principle: appeasement will keep the Muslim community relatively content.  In other words a policy of containment – a policy doomed to failure since the Islamic ideology is based on expansion and growth.  Historically, Islamic societies have viewed appeasement as a sign of weakness just short of capitulation.

Several recent examples of said policy were in the news this week.

The UK government banned two US political bloggers, Pamela Geller and Robert Spencer,  from entering Britain to attend an EDL rally.

There was also the arrest of EDL members Tommy Robinson and Kevin Carrol.  According to an AFP report:

Scotland Yard had warned Tommy Robinson and other EDL members they faced arrest if they went ahead with a planned walk and rally at the barracks in Woolwich, southeast London, where Lee Rigby was hacked to death.

The reported continued:

Police said the EDL’s plans risked causing “serious public disorder” and told the group to hold their rally, timed to mark Armed Forces Day in Britain, near parliament in central London.

The EDL campaigns against what it says is the spread of radical Islam in Britain. But it has been accused of Islamophobia and previous rallies have ended in clashes with anti-fascist groups.

Despite the police warning, Robinson went ahead with a sponsored walk through the capital with EDL co-leader Kevin Carroll, aimed to raise money for a children’s cancer charity.

The movement said both were arrested as they entered Tower Hamlets, an east London borough with a sizeable Muslim community and a large mosque, on their way to Woolwich.

The majority of media outlets showed footage of Robinson and Carroll being led away in handcuffs.  What was omitted in most news accounts was the assault of Carroll in the presence of a number of police officers while he and Robinson were walking down the street.

Recorded on video, the assaulter appears to have never been taken into custody for a criminal act while Robinson and Carroll are arrested for an act of civil disobedience.

The recorded assault occurs about 30 seconds into the video linked below:

The EDL and it’s members have been involved in questionable activities in the past.  That being said, Islamic special interest groups have proven to be extremely effective in manipulating local authorities to facilitate their goals and conducting smear campaigns against those that oppose them.

It seems  the below video may pose a much more “serious public disorder” …
